This watercolour painting is part of a small series of beautiful new watercolours made by Andrew Logan on recent travels to Greece and Italy in June 2022.
Folegandros is a Greek island of incredible natural beauty located between Paros and Santorini. Andrew visited Folegandros in June 2022, whilst at home the UK celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Andrew travelled to this small, rocky island by ferry from Santorini. He was immediately impressed by how clean the island was, Folegandros is very proud to have no litter, giving it a wonderful, unspoiled charm.
This watercolour is of an unusual, orchid like flower called the Ballota, a small, bushy shrub that thrives in hot, sunny and dry conditions. Andrew was fascinated by it's furry texture - it has a covering of felty, silver hairs that reduce water loss. In late summer it produces flowering spears that bear whorls of small pink flowers.
This original watercolour painting has been created in watercolour on quality art paper with approximate dimensions of 10 x 25cm. It has been titled, signed and dated by Andrew Logan and is a certified original which should not be copied without Andrew Logan’s written permission. It will be carefully packaged as a flat parcel and posted using tracked delivery.
